The Imperial is a very impressive Victorian hotel in Eastbourne ”“ full of character ”“ situated at the end of Devonshire Place, across the road from the promenade and bandstand, perfect for an early evening stroll. The hotel offers a good standard of comfortable accommodation, relaxing lounge area and a large restaurant offering hearty, home cooked food. There is entertainment most evenings in the Ballroom.

Springtime is a great time to visit Eastbourne – when the famous ‘Carpet of Flowers’ is in full bloom and at its glorious best, with formal flower beds laid out right along the prom. With a warm climate, a stroll after dinner with the evening sea air, perhaps catching a frequent performance in the band stand, is perfect before return for the great evening entertainment in the hotel’s ballroom.

Leaving the Island nice and early, we make our way along the South coast ”“ stopping in Brighton with time to explore the ‘Lanes’ and grab a bite to eat.

There is a  full day excursions is to Rye & Hastings. The quaint harbour town of Rye, with enchanting cobbled streets, medieval church and beautifully preserved historic houses, is almost suspended in time and has a uniquely unhurried atmosphere. We continue to the seaside town of Hastings which lies between the rugged beauty of the East and West hills. Home to Europe’s largest beach-launched fishing fleet, Hastings features in the smash hit wartime drama series ‘Foyle’s War’. Some interesting places to visit are Hastings Castle, the Cliff Railways and Shipwreck Heritage Centre before you return back to the hotel.
