Looking for a holiday by the sea with beautiful scenery, activities and events to suit every age?  Look no further, Weymouth is the perfect holiday destination! With beautiful golden sands sprinkled with deckchairs, safe shallow waters and a pretty, lively harbourside you certainly won’t be disappointed, with a bustling town and plenty to do, whatever the weather.

Situated on Weymouth’s seafront, on the Jurassic Coastline, the Hotel Mon Ami boasts outstanding views across the bay. This Georgian building is spread across 5 floors and has 2 lifts. Rooms benefit from an en suite bathroom and all standard rooms have recently undergone refurbishment in the past 18 months. Some have views of the sea, and all have a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

There are 2 full days out in the the Dorset Coast & Countryside with a brand new itinerary for Go WightAway.

There is a day in Sherborne, to visit the magnificent castle. This historic Digby stately home was built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594, and we enjoy a private tour to view the staterooms, Raleigh’s kitchen and the museum in the Castle’s cellars. The stunning ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped grounds will be wreathed in red and gold as the autumn colours begin and our tour is followed by time to buy yourself lunch in the Tea Room. In the afternoon we spend time in the medieval market town of Sherborne, and there is a guided tour of the Sherborne Abbey before returning to the hotel. Founded by St. Aldhelm in AD 705, the Abbey has developed from Saxon cathedral to the worshipping heart of a monastic community, and finally, to one of the most beautiful of England’s parish churches. For many it is still the ‘cathedral of Dorset’, and our Benedictine heritage lives on in the daily offering of prayer and praise.

Spend a day on the Purbeck Peninsula. Arrive in style as you board the Swanage Steam Railway for a journey in the heart of this seaside town. After some time to stroll along the prom and grab a bit to eat, we spend an afternoon on the Lulworth Estate with entrance to Lulworth Castle included. Built in the 17th Century, this magnificent building is steeped in history. Originally built as a hunting lodge to entertain aristocracy and royalty, it was for centuries the family seat of the Weld family, the current owners of the Lulworth Estate. Ravaged by fire in 1929, it has been restored in a pioneering partnership with English Heritage. Climb the tower for spectacular panoramic views of the Purbeck countryside and towards the Jurassic Coast. Visit the 18th Century Roman Catholic Chapel and the 15th Century Church of St Andrew.

Wednesday is a free day to enjoy all the seaside pursuits Weymouth has to offer, but there is an optional morning tour to the World Famous Abbotsbury Swannery, the only place in the world where you are able to walk through the heart of a colony of nesting Mute Swans. A visit to this beautiful place is considered to be one of the best things to do in Dorset. Add to your holiday when you book for £9pp.
