Day 1 –

After taxi pick ups from home and local pick-ups in Portsmouth, travel to Cumbria for an overnight stay.

Day 2 –

Today we stop for coffee in Dumfries, capital of the region, with time to explore its Robert Burns connections. Continue to Culzean Castle for a guided tour. Rising majestically from its cliff top location, looking over to the Isle of Arran, it is set in 600 acres of beautiful Scottish countryside, with enchanting terraced gardens, charming follies, woodland walks & sandy beaches. The Castle was President Eisenhower’s home for his visits to Scotland, gifted in thanks for WW2.

Day 3 –

Start the day at Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, offering a truly unique encounter with Scotland’s favourite son. Relax for an afternoon tour of Galloway with our local guide. The Rhin’s of Galloway Peninsula remains an unspoilt paradise for visitors on the look out for peace and tranquillity .

Day 4 –

Today is the highlight of our tour. A beautiful day out to The Isle of Arran. Board the ferry at Ardrossan and sail to Brodick, set by the sea and overlooked by the mountains of Goatfell. Known as ‘Scotland in Miniature’ Arran is a condensed version of Scotland with mountains, lochs and rolling hills, surrounded by stunning coastline. Visit the quintessential Victorian Highland Estate of Brodick Castle, where history can be tracked back to the Vikings, bedecked with gardens by the sea. Continue with a tour of North of Arran, with an included tipple with a tasting at Arran Distillery.

Day 5 –

Free Day – explore the seaside resort town of Ayr, with quaint streets and harbour, or visit the ruins of Dundonald Castle.

Day 6 –

Today we visit the award winning New Lanark Mills World Heritage Site and discover the fascinating history of the impressive Cotton Mill Village. See the ‘Annie McKeod Experience,’ and in the afternoon visit the seaside resort of Royal Troon where you can relax on the prom and enjoy some lunch before returning back to the hotel.

Day 7/8 –

We journey back to the Isle of Wight, stopping at Gretna Green for coffee, before continuing to our overnight hotel in the Midlands. We continue after breakfast with a visit to Oxford for lunch, before your taxi collection from the ferry for home.
