Springtime is traditional Holland at its best, as field upon field of flowers burst into colourful bloom. No trip to see the Bulbfields is complete without a visit to Keukenhof Gardens. The world’s largest bulb garden where 7 million bulbs come to life – entrance is included on your weekend tour.
We will also spend a day exploring traditional Holland, with Clogs, Cheese & Windmills as we tour the Dutch lowlands for a full day scenic tour out. With a stop at Zaanse Schans, one of the highlights of the Netherlands, just outside Amsterdam. Be part of a vibrant and stunning living and working community that dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. It’s packed with wooden windmills, barns, houses and museums and built in the typically Dutch wooden architectural style, relocated here piece by piece since 1961. We then spend the afternoon at the seaside resort of Volendam, located in the harbour of close by Edam.
The Hotel De Rijper Eilanden offers large rooms with cable TV, free Wi-Fi and private balconies. It is surrounded by various routes for cycling and hiking and it has a great buffet restaurant. The rooms are decor ated with wooden floors, bright colours and large windows.
On the sunny days, guests can relax at the sun terrace looking out over the typical De Beemster scenery. There are also barbeque facilities, bicycle rental and tourist information available.
Visited and inspected by IOW Tours in 2014, this is truly a unique hotel which is also a museum – housing interesting curiosities; the hotel has its own London Bus and fairground dodgems !! You can take a boat ride around the hotel on the Dutch Broads in their own tourist boats.
