When the Brothers Grimm wrote the famous fairy tales, ‘Hansel & Gretel’, ‘Rapunzel’ & ‘Sleeping Beauty’, they set their Children’s Tales in Germany’s enchanting Black Forest.

This region has not only inspired tales of witches, castles, towers and kidnapped princesses, but it also provided the world with cuckoo clocks and indulgent cherry and chocolate gateaux.

There is also a day to the Alsace Wine Region, visiting its beautiful Alsatian capital of Colmar, before following the wine route through the pretty 16th Century towns of Riquewihr & Ribeauville, ending the day at Chateau Haut Koenigsburg, a wonderfully rebuilt fortress overlooking the Valley with entrance included.

This is a well thought out GOLD TOUR, with entrances included as well as local guides; you get the best out of your time away and are well looked after with taxi pick-up from home to the coach. Not forgetting the cake making demonstration of the famous Black Forest Gateaux, obviously with a tasting after!

You will visit the heart of the Black Forest – Freiburg – as well as the traditional town of Triberg. We take trip up in to the Alps for a day out to Lake Constance, bordering Switzerland, visiting the beautiful Botanical Gardens on the Island of Mainau in the lake.
