Go WightAway with IOW Tours as we head to Normandy for it’s annual Tulip Festival, exploring historic Lisieux.

Every April the magnificent house Chateux de Vendeuvre in Normandy and it’s gardens host a tulip festival. Not only can you enjoy discovering the castle, but also witness a breathtaking colourful display of more than 30,000 flowers including Narcissi & Grape Hyacinths and of course a copious collection of Tulips.

Your accommodation for your stay is the modern 3* Mercure Hotel which is located on the outskirts of the charming town of Lisieux and within easy reach of a host of attractions.

Each of the 69 rooms is decorated in a cosy style and includes a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The bar and restaurant are located together on the ground floor which has a pleasant ambience and enjoys views onto an outdoor pool.

There is an optional British D Day Landings Tour- £15pp including the entrances.

To start we head to the famous Café Gondrée, the first house and family to be liberated by the Allies, before visiting Pegasus Bridge & Museum which retells the story behind the famous glider landing. The next stop is Le Grand Bunker-The Atlantic Wall Museum, located inside a huge command bunker. Then we make the journey to Sword, Juno & Gold; the target beaches of the British and Canadian forces before visiting the Arromanches 360 Theatre where a circular arena of 9 screens displays a poignant film.
